610/710 Spindle, small to large

Can anyone left out there in the world advise what model year the 610/710 models moved up from the smaller PL510 spindle size to the larger spindle used on the '77 and later 200SX, A510, 810/Maxima and 280ZX?

I seem to know less these days than I did 25 years ago, but I believe the spindle was upgraded to the larger/later standardized size when the brakes were changed from the angled 'self-energizing' pad/calliper arrangement to the parallel brake pad calliper arrangement. However, I do not know what year this happened. Can anyone advise what model year this spindle size / upgrade took place?

Datzenmike - are you still out there?

I need a new set of struts for the vintage race car, and am looking for the spindle/calliper mount dimensions of the A510 (78-82) and the 200SX *77-78) struts, and am hoping that the later 610 and 710 model struts might also fit that bill.
