Like the subject states I'm hoping someone can help me identify what transmission this. I'm under the impression that it's off a 280z 5 speed but I'm not even sure how to check. I'm finally getting around to install it and wanted to make sure I'm buying the right parts for it as well as want to see if I need to do anything on the driveshaft side other than shortening it.

I sent you a PM, but just for others here.
With the long tail transmission, no metal plate ahead of the shifter and speedo gear bolt at 12 o'clock, this would be a 78-78 5 speed from either a truck or a 280z.
Yes, the driveshaft will need to be shortened.
