Hi
People reading this forum may well know that driving 510 is a way of living. Like very hobby historic race cars in general can take all your spare time and money. To keep up with the positive side building some of the most reliable and modern cars in it's time gives you enourmous pleasure.
My first car was a 4d 510. Since then I have been a user of many brands like Peugeot 205 Gti, Citroen Bx GT, Fords and several Audis. Still must admit that I feel more in home with race prepared 510. So different from modern heavy cars and at the same time somehow friendly from old times.
Latest project is historic FIA homologated 510 with L18 engine. First test drives indicated we are on the right track. As normal you just need some more powerfull engine and suspension tuning.....So the never ending story seems to be started again.
Like to thank for the great support from the Datsun society. Many new friends from US, Australia, Canada and Finland have greatly helped.

Historic racer used to advise; better old cars than young women. Both will be expensive but at the end of the day...

Welcome to the Realm, and a great introduction.
Car looks very fine. We've had a few people join the forum from Finland, Sweden and Norway over the years, and all have rally spec cars. You however have what appears to be a street/track spec car which makes it unique.
I can only guess that there are very, very few Datsun 1300 and 1600 sedans in Northern Europe since there were so many more popular cars in the era available that we just didn't get in Canada or the US.
So did you build the car as it is, or did you acquire this car from elsewhere?
If you could place your country into your avatar/signature, that would be helpful as we have members from all over the world on this site.
Very cool, and we look forward to your input here on the 510Realm.

Re: New Datsun dreamer in Finland
Thank you Byron510.
Car is made here in Finland from a US bodyshell. We have had in Finland only 4d cars. Preparation of race car is always a job without limits. Just some money and time is needed. Supporting friends will do the rest?
We have gone the long route and car is basicly a very similar than the original BRE Trans Am car. Roll gage is done with great care to focus on safety. FIA homologation document number 5397 and period books have been our guidelines supported with numbers of Datsun fanatics.
We succeeded to get the car under homologation weight ( 875 kg). The next steps are now race engine and suspension tuning. No need to mention amateur driver coaching.
