Brake Booster Spacer Question
Hi guys, I'm currently doing an install of a B210 booster onto my unboosted 510. I've got the correct spacer from the firewall-booster, but I've only got this one from booster-MC, which I believe is a B310 booster (the big sort with no spacer between firewall-booster). Does anyone know if this will ...

14x6.5 & 14x7 fitment
Wheel fitment has been covered before, but I don't think I've seen a clear answer to this. I'm looking at running Watanabes in 14x6.5 front and 14x7 rears, offset +7 and +10 respectively, with 195/65/14 tires on the front and 205/65/14s on the rear. Anyone know if those would fit without fender mods...

Re: Gearbox Mount for 5 Speed box help
Yup emailed Troy, he said that mount should work with any trans where the mounting point is about 21 1/4" to the centre of the mount pad. Crawled underneath and confirmed, ordered one. $22 shipping to New Zealand from the US, I can't even get an ebay seller to ship me a plastic steering column ...

Re: Gearbox Mount for 5 Speed box help
Thanks for your responses! I'll crawl under and get some pics of the 5 speed box again, but the only marking I could see from when it was out was the NMCA L3 marking. I've attached a picture of it if it helps? when installing a short 5sp into a standard shell (091,094 ,194) a custom xmember is requi...

Gearbox Mount for 5 Speed box help
Apologies if this has been covered in a previous thread, I don't think I've come across one before. I'm currently in the middle of a 5 speed swap into my 510 (standard 1.6 L-series). I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I believe it's a 71-series short box (only marking is NMCA L3 on the left side). I'...

Re: Help identifying struts and brakes?
That's true, it's just difficult to spend any money when I'm not 100% sure, student life is suffering! I considered converting to local "standard" struts, and they're pretty available (including a lot of 280ZX struts), but I guess I'd like to keep these if it's practical. The ones I got of...

Re: Help identifying struts and brakes?
Yeah, I have a feeling they might be hard to source here as Datsuns with these calipers never really came here. Will ask at the local brake specialist, but any specific info will definitely be helpful if you can dig some up, I have a feeling I'll have to order some in from overseas... I did find the...

Re: Help identifying struts and brakes?
Took the wheel off to have another look, here's the markings on the caliper. Didn't see any on the back. They seem to be very similar to S30 calipers in construction, although casting is different. Unsure what logo that is, doesn't seem to be Sumitomo? EDIT: After doing a very quick google search wi...

Re: Help identifying struts and brakes?
I think that's the same setup as our NZ cars, but yeah. They looked a lot like S30 calipers, but they're not quite the same. A guy here mentioned they looked a bit British and they sort of do resemble the Lockheed brakes on my old MGB... I'll get some better pics later when I get the wheel off again...

Re: Help identifying struts and brakes?
IIRC my SSS also came with the same setup .( i am south african) i believe that is stock brakes , i may be wrong . Hmmm ok, yeah the guys here haven't seen anything like it (we usually get NZ, Australian, and Japanese market 510s). My concern is the calipers especially look quite different to what ...

Help identifying struts and brakes?
Apologies if this is a pretty basic question or it's been covered, but I haven't managed to find much info on the thing. Local 510 guys also seemed to have never seen this type before... These struts pretty much need a complete overhaul - calipers need to be rebuilt, pads need replacing, discs are w...

Re: New Member
Thanks for the welcome guys! Drivetrain-wise, it's still pretty standard, with a L16 attached to a 4-speed, which I believe is all original. I'm quite a big fan of keeping things period modified, so I'm planning on refitting all the bad non-original bits to standard (unfortunately there's too much o...
