Not a Datsun, but, pretty cool!

Post by jason »

A friend dropped by with his new ride, check this out, pretty nice stuff. No one will ever guess the make though! I really like the side car too with a trunk yet.

God, Rob, got it right first time round and Hainz is also right. It's a Chiang Jiang CJ750 Chinese copy of the Russian copy of the BMW!

I like the fact that it has a reverse gear!! That's kind of an odd feature on a bike at all, especially a 50-year-old design. I'm going to guess that the originals we not this way.
A friend of mine ordered one of those Enfield India's. It came to his door in a wood crate, with all the tools to assemble and service the bike, and one extra brake and clutch cable. I think he paid less that 2K for it delivered in the mid 90's. It was pretty cool just to see a new 40's era bike. The only difference that he pointed out is that the India's had metric fasteners on everything, where the original would have all been whitworth - I'd take that upgrade.
