straightened back end ... finally

Post by caesarDX »

Just got my car back today. New rear panel installed "done correctly"
the whole back end is aligned now. Even the rear door gaps are
corrected. The shop had to pull out the right rear qtr panel a bit.
Looks great to me. Even put on the new bumper.

It's amazing what else you find when you start grinding away at rocker
panels and dog legs... ended up making 2 feet of rockers on each side
inside and out... check the pics out.

Say Leonard, you're quick enough already, get out and enjoy the ride! Mind, having the interior back in would be nice though.

Tweeked bumper, and it looks like the deck lid sit out over the tail light panel too far, and the deck lid gap tapered from left to right...
Looked kind of like the way mine does now.

Looks great Leonard! Like Jason said, forget about working on it, just get out and drive it!

Car was hit from behind and the repairs were done poorly. The original panel was reshaped to "make do" however the brake lamps were not
to the original contour. Also, the body seams were not there... just filled with body filler. .... sorry it doesn't quite cut it.

It looks great. I'd really like to get a good photo of that front spoiler; I have only a couple good ones on different cars.
Glad you got the rear panel done correctly, did you end up using the one from Dan?
As for the ‘68 license plate light hole in the bumper, you could always get a nice aluminum plate miller, or finned, to bolt over the hole.
Byron
PS Are you really going turbo? You must have been down talking to Andy again.
Love people and use things,
because the opposite never works.

Yeah... Byron the spoiler fit pretty good. I didn't lay a hand on it.. I am too lazy nowadays. Yes it is the one from Dan.. it went to a good cause and was installed carefully and correctly (I remember you saying that back panel would be tricky). Hopefully, you will see it sooner than later. It was quite a chore to get it all together.. but I am happy with the results.
As for the bumper hole, I am still thinking about how to fill the hole with some creative idea that doesn't cost me too much $$$.

As for the turbo...no I have not been talking to Andy.... yet. One can dream can't they? Hope everything is going well with the new addition
to the family. :D
