Gilson Double DIN Console

Post by SupDoc »

I wanted to post a couple pics, in case anybody runs into the same problem I did while fitting a JVC head unit in the Gilson double DIN console. The mounting sleeve of the head unit is larger than the opening of the console, so you can't use the sleeve. To solve the problem, I ditched the sleeve and got some 3/4" angle aluminum stock from the hardware store, to make a couple custom brackets. Luckily, the backside of the console is molded with 4 round pockets that you can attach the brackets with #14 screws.

Looks great! I've got the single DIN with the SSS Dash. I have everything fitted but do not have anything placed in the single DIN. Hopefully whatever goes in fits OK.

No mounting issues with the single DIN
