SUNDAY DRIVE
Stay tuned, just keying up a low key drive around the Fraser Valley, led by Paul Silva. We will zig-zag on the south of the Fraser, cross over at Agassiz, back through #7 and Dewdney trunk, then for me I would cross back on the Golden Ears for home.
This will NOT be an early start, Paul and I meeting at the Chevron Station at 176th and 8th at 11:00 AM.
Rough map to follow.
Here is the map from Paul: I would suggest be there just a tad early so we can roll, this route will take some time. I plan to be there at 10:30.

If I want going to be on a boat I would be there.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
So far, drivers coming are: Paul, Keith, Ron, Jon and possibly Alveen.
Wow, has the smoke ever come in. I can hardly see the Gulf and San Juan Islands out my window today. I hope we get a break on Sunday!

Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
Yes, lets hope the fire situation does decrease towards the end of September or early October.
Many of the routes shut down as the fires progress, shocked this morning that Logan Lake under evacuation order.
I have friends who live there but are mining right now in Dawson City, so they must be really worried about their property.

Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
Guys, I'm doing drain tile around my house this weekend. But you will literally be two blocks away from me as you head towards Abernathy Way and the most direct route to the Golden Ears as you pass through Maple Ridge. As you enter Maple Ridge, hang a right at 227th (Red Robin) and I'm 6 blocks down the road. Drop by if you like, be great to see you all, even if for 10 minutes. I can have some cold drinks waiting for you.

Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
Morning World!
What a nice drive yesterday, led by Paul S. in his Gordini.
We basically kept close to the U.S./CDN border till we got to the base of the Cascades out in the Cultus Lake area. Paul took us on a nice side road that I was not even aware of, taking us up higher above the Fraser valley.
Traffic was to be expected in that Chilliwack are before # 1 but for the most part we really sailed along just flowing with the traffic.
For you non-locals the Fraser Valley is filled with farms lands, some hobby farms and small acreages. The roads out there are laid out in a grid work and make for a nice back roads drive, which suited me just fine. We then crossed the Fraser River and made our way back through Harrison, then behind Mission on the Dewdney Trunk road, stopping at Byron's for a meet and cold drinks...THANKS BYRON! It had gotten really hot by then.
We all split up after that, with Jon and I heading back to White Rock.
We had a few spots to accelerate and hit some corners hard during the cruise.
I have some weird issue going on, as much as my car ran PERFECTLY, that I am richer through the range, to the point I actually went through a tank of fuel! I did 216 KM, with fuel almost out, yet I should be able to get around 300+ km. I am going to pull the carb top off and check things out and drop my primary main fuel from a 1.6 to a 1.55 or 1.50. Just weird as all I changed was putting a new power valve in, I made no changes to the carb.
When I got back to the garage I pulled a plug(s) and they showed rich ( in relative terms to where I would normally be). Even my exhaust pipe showed the slight richness. I will do the jet change and then do a drive towards Specialty, where I can make change as needed. I will check my timing too, make sure nothing has grenaded in the distributor.
I enjoyed the drive, I was not leading for a change and it really was nice to just cruise along where I could actually look at the scenery.
Nice to see human faces again, been such a long time what with the Covid nightmare.
We will try to get a nice drive in during late September or early October, so much will depend on our forest fires. I see the Coq was closed today, same with some of our other secondary highways. We also do not need to be breathing the horrendous smoke that is covering a huge chunk of our Province.

Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
Nice you got out, I’m very curious what road you climbed out there...
Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
I know this is the 510 Realm, but I love that Gordini
Re: SUNDAY DRIVE
We all love that Gordini, and it’s owned and driven by one of the most honest person you could know.
Thanks all for dropping by. You arrived a couple hours earlier than expected, catching me off guard - but it was just fine. As Keith mentioned, it’s just nice to see people again!
