I’ll offer Hwy 31A from Kaslo to New Denver, just great.

California 229 would definitely be in my top 3 favorite 510 roads. 1.5 lanes wide, no centerline, tight and twisty, and beautifully cambered. Here's a clip from a run in spring 2009:

Checking out some of my favorite cams to see what the snow level is doing.

That is the #1 Trans-Canada on the far side of the river, one of our cruise routes to the Interior of B.C..

Like a lot of places, we are getting some more snow and cold this week.

The old pass East of Golden was so entertaining - steep with tight corners. Any bits of that accessible anymore?

Not sure what you mean..maybe an original highway pass for #1?

The #1 still goes through there of course.

Been a long time since I have been through any of those areas, so many people packing into the whole Banff and Jasper corridors.

Last time I was up there we stayed in Kootenay National park and day tripped early to Banff. Like so many places it is just overloaded now. Nice highway for a cruise.

Highway 145 between Dolores and Telluride Colorado. Especially in the fall. Feeling adventurous? Take the county road 38 (CR 38) turnoff for the road less traveled.

Highway 14 from Ted's Place to Walden Colorado. BIG fire there last year, sadly the largest in the history of Colorado. Cameron Pass was one of the highlights. Hopefully water erosion isn't too bad and the forest regrows in my lifetime.

Thought I would post this up today, place where my son and I have hiked, high above one of our 510 roads.

Snow load is huge this year in the mountains, in that picture it would be 4- 5 feet depending on the wind.

Sure a gorgeous day up high, so many storms we have had. Hopefully this spring does not heat up too fast or serious flooding will be a major issue.

This is the first time in awhile that the camera was clear of snow and ice.

A month and a bit later....it has still been snowing in our mountains. Lets hope the heat build up is slow as the snow pack is huge this year.

We've had a lot of cool weather up to now but the forecast for Hope has highs of 24°C by Friday. The melt will be on. If it stays warm like that for long that will certainly be a problem.

Lytton hit an all time record yesterday, 49 C. ( 120.2 F.), and, finally in this heat, the late June snow melt caught up with a few places, Pemberton and the Elaho lower valley with some serious flooding.

I was then checking some of the hiway cams and I see the Lytton fire has started again.....not even on the news yet....Yikes.

At least a bit cooler today in White Rock, 28 C ( 82 F ) here right now.

WOW.....I went to check my usual cameras.....down because the feed has burnt up..... there is now a fire close to Boston Bar...and then...I see the Town of Lytton is on fire...full evacuation order, hard to tell from cell phone footage but it does not look good.

We are definitely into the glue now, what with the heat and now predicted lightning storms coming.

Most of these are human caused at this point, F'n idiot smokers! The fire just by the Hope slide caused by campers or ATV riders, they don't know of course.

Campfire ban today till October, glad I got my one trip in with a campfire or two.

If you are out there...be bloody well careful!!!! 51 fires started this week so far.

CBC had a call-in radio program at 8pm this evening that managed to get a bunch of people in the fire zones to call in and give reports. One caller (a truck driver familiar with the Lytton area) suggested that he had seen the initial smoke in Lytton coming from near a rail crossing.
