Has anyone tried one of these filler necks?

Post by paul97 »

I just found this filler neck and I thought about getting one for my 510 but I wanted to see if anyone has bought one before.

That hose coupling looks an awful lot like silicone. I would be nervous putting that in my car unless the lining is made or rubber/fkm/Viton etc.

Agreed. I would check with the seller. Silicone does not stand up to gasoline.

You really think Maddat would put out a product that will fry you and your car? This has to be inspected for use in Auz and has been and is good to go. I'd have no issues using that kit personally.

Yes I bought one but no I haven't installed it yet because I am still working on the front end and engine bay right now. I hope to have it installed in the next few weeks and I will post a picture of it installed then.

I finally installed the filler neck and it fit perfectly! I did trim the hose where it goes onto the fuel tank filler neck at an angle so it sat flush with the fuel tank. I even installed a charcoal canister which is in the first picture.

I am sure you can buy the hose through Lordco still. It is made by Greenline and comes in three different ways, soft, medium and hard. I have used the soft on a few cars and it works well.

That look real nice, I'm sure if concerned about the hose you could find one similar made of neoprene.
