The 510 Realm

A friend of mines family friend has a shop with two double bays he's renting out to a few of my friends for $300 a month. he also hauled it there for $50 and we're all splitting the rent 4 ways, so now i've got a place to keep the 510 and work on it. I also brought all my zc parts over to work on it there as well.

as for my plan for this car, ive been doing some research, and I came across a guy who specializes in vg swaps in 510's. he was referred to me from a friend swapping a vg into her s12. He has put a kit together that makes the vg30/33 pretty much a direct drop in swap. I would like to get the vg33 from the 96-99 pathfinder, but theyre a little more expensive, and a friend of mine has a pathfinder with a rusted out frame with a vg30 that he is going to sell me quite cheap.

the car needs a lot of body work, i have panels that my dads friend fabbed up for it, i still need dog legs and rocker panels. my plan is to get a motor built for it first then start at the body work.

was looking on clist for some vg parts. came across an ad for vg engine rwd hardbody tranny and wiring harness + ecu for $150. guy doesnt respond to email for two days and said he sold it today. i was actually kinda stoked!

my friend with the spare pathfinder wants to weld his rusted out frame now and not sell me the motor from his spare pathfinder. i get annoyed when people get so indesicive like this. so i havnt pulled the motor from it. and still looking at z31t parts: tranny and diff

checked out a few vg's the past couple days. I just picked up the best motor/deal out of all of them. dunno the year of the motor, its from a 96-00 pathfinder vg33e, fucker weighs a ton.

still hunting for z31 turbo trans or a 2wd d21 hardbody/pathfinder trans and a z31 turbo lsd rear end, and the obd1 pathfinder wiring harness/manual ecu

got bored today, so i decided to start pulling the heads off, had a few beer n just hung out at the shop




drivers side valve train is nice and clean


passenger side not as much




just have to pull the timing cover off and pull the head bolts out. probably get at that tomorrow if i dont go out on the boat.

was helping my friend work on his samurai for a while today, after that i started pulling the accesories, timing belt, brackets, and manifolds, got one head off. didnt feel like rotating the engine around (because the other side is up agaisnt the bench) to get the other head off today tho haha

now im going to wait to disassemble the heads untill the zc is assembled, my bench at the shop is so full and clustered with parts i have no more room.

my plans for the heads: gonna pull those small vg33 cams out, hopefully i can have the bigger vg30 cams from my buddys spare pathy and send those into colt for regrinds (vg33 are a little too small). port intake port/polish exhaust, pull the valves and blend the valve seats, get a "performance" valve job, polish combustion chambers valve faces and piston tops.

I also pulled the torque converter and flywheel off.

im just going to try and find a 300zx turbo 5spd thats either smashed or is not running etc. a lot easier to just get everything from one car than a bunch of others. fuel injection system, ecu, wiring harness, turbo, tranny, and diff.

took my gf to the shop today, she cleaned the interior of my honda and my datsun while i worked on the zc. and took some pics of parts and what not of the datsun.
