RUN BEYOND HOPE 2012

Post by bertvorgon »

So...we have some good weather finally!!!!

what do we want to do this year? Aron had suggested we go up the Sea to Sky, head to Lillooet on the Duffy, have lunch, and return the same way.

Next weekend looks good, would work for me...what say the group?

IF...we go....we should really go EARLY, so we at least get the going to Lillooet with no traffic, then come what may on the way back, and I mean early, be hitting the Duffy as the sun comes up.

I too start holidays next weekend. We may delay our departure untill Sunday afternoon, so if we do this Saturday I might be in... what day did we have in mind?

I'm thinking we should postpone this until more can make it, as we all head into holidays. Maybe close to the end of the month.

So is it on or off? I am available for either Saturday or Sunday. So what's the departure time? It's not going to be as crazy as your Knox run is it?

Due to so many people away on holidays,we will re-schedule. Maybe shoot for the 28-29th. It is supposed to head to 30-40 degrees up country anyhow...that is just way too hot, morning would be ok but the drive back would be crazy.

The last time we did the Duffy, it was the polar oposite - I seem to recall that we were on the black ice look out! Keep us posted. I'm taking my faily on our first ever vacation - 14th to the 29th. I'll look forward to the Octoberfast drive.

Maybe we should just combine the two...and go in September...no heat...no ice...no tourists!

I have a couple of ideas for some shorter "destination" drives over the summer?!

Go explore the Stave Lake Dam....

I dunno...go up to Whistler early...park..rent a kyack and do the River of Dreams.....

Go for a small hike...go explore the old gold mine......( non 510!)

I just got back from holidays so I should be available from today forward. The August and September long weekends are no go for me though, have to go to a couple of weddings ;-)!
