HAHA Lets do it! We are going to even try and get all the sheet metal bent at a vender too. That way it will be as simple as possible. Yeah lets put it in that red car!!!!!

UPDATE:
The turbo L series decided to stop feeding the head oil pressure..... It was cool to take it apart and see that after over the coarse of it's life added with over a year of daily driving on cheap pump gas the pistons looked perfect! I couldn't believe it, 8 lbs of boost the whole time too!
Since the cars needed a motor and other work done, I've decided like I normally do that a simple fix is just way to easy
So to make it a bit more of a challenge I picked this baby up!! 400hp daily YO!
The smaller motor is a 2011 Nissan leaf motor which isn't quite a fair comparison, it doesn't have the inverter hooked to it.

Rob we will have to make the CAN/AM box V2 to run this thing! A little more complex though since it requires CAN communication. Since you are the "CAN" part of CAN/am box I think you should figure that part out

Cool Jeff, that will prove to be a very worthy project. I really look forward to following it.
What is the motor out of? Size,.weight, output ect?
Is the differential on the forward or trailing end of that set up?
Are you planning to put the works in the back seat and where the gas tank currently resides?

Tesla rates the motor at 416hp at the wheels, from the dyno videos I've seen it usually hits around 440hp. It puts down 454 ft lbs or torque.
I'm not exactly sure what it weights. A bit over 300 is what I'm thinking. All boxed up it weighted about 400. This includes the Inverter (converts the 400V DC to AC to drive the induction motor) motor one set of gears to the diff then axles outputs. No shifting which kinda hurts the top end pull but 0-60 is all I really care about though. In the Tesla it tops out at around 130 mph.
Yeap gotta cut out the back seat/ fuel tank area.

Very cool Jeff.
Ya mean the whole engine assembly weighs about as much as the rear suspension set up in the 510 anyways...
Great fun, and you have the connections current…ly (pun intended) to make this work.
I hope you can document the build here.
