No I haven't - but to be honest I don't think it would be that impressive!

Mine does the quarter in 14.7 @93mph with no launch, I had to roll start it just to get traction, but it's very fast to the 1/8 mile, and stop light to stop light, it's almost been unbeatable.
tops out at 129mph and get 24 mpg in the city and 25+ at 80mph on the highway, not bad

The 14's are about what I figured they would be. That v-6 must make some reasonable torque. That's great milage. They run on regular gas don't they? I wish mine did!!!

Oh, by the way, my 1972 wagon, when I first put the turbo on it, did 16's in the 1/4. That was quite fast in 1975 for a four banger.

About 10 years ago, I stumbled across an article that reported poll results of a study taken which asked highway truck drivers' for their opinions of the worst drivers; an overwhelming majority of professional drivers ranked Volkswagen drivers as the worst group (by far) on the public roads & highways. The article also made special mention about GTI drivers in particular as being the absolute bottom of the barrel for their dangerous, inconsiderate, and unnecessary stunts on the roads.

As the VW ads proudly states - "drivers wanted" - that's because no VW owners know how to drive!!!

When Dick Garret made his turbo kit in 1972, he tested a stock 510, then timed his turbo 510's, one with the Stage 1 kit and the other with the Stage 2 kit. The stock 510 did 19.6 in the 1/4, the Stage 1 turbo did 17.3 and the Stage 2 did 15.5. the Datsun 240z was timed at 17.1 . In 1973 when I put the Turbo kit on my wagon, and ran it at the Boundry Bay Raceways, I did 16.505. The skinny Michelin X tires I had would not hook up leaving the line.

I ran a 14.8 on 87 octane and a 14.7 on 92.

Yea, I second Rob's question? The 1/4 mile time diff. is interesting. I wonder if the thing was pinging slightly on the regular?

Well maybe a little cause the timing is up 5 degrees from stock so sometimes it does, but I also had trouble on that run with clutch slippage, I believe that if the clutch wasn't slipping I would have ran a 14.4 or 14.5....my 60ft times were well improved but the power shifting over took my clutch.

I've ported and soon to be polishing my spare heads and lower intake, all thats left is the upper intake.
With slicks and a good launch, I can see a high 13.9? or low 14.0? real soon.
I'll tell you though, I love the torque, just gotta work on the top end, it's only 161 ish hp but 180ish torque around 2800-3300 rpm.
good pull from the line but after 1/8th mile the hp starts to show it's short coming.

Thats really great! I run more timing ) a lot actually) on my Toyota GTS. I run it on mid-grade, and only occasionally, if it has been idling awhile, do I hear it ping. But, the performance gain is amazing. Torque os good...torque is great...thats what really makes it feel like you hauling ass!!! If i had to say anything about what I like about my car is the torque, it just keeps on coming. That would be fantastic if you got it into the 13's, that would be faster than most of the factory stuff out there!
