I have a dogleg 5-speed out of a 200SX that I am putting into my 69 510 that is running a L16 engine. Will that fit? I heard all I have to do it slot the old one.

Your old trans cross member will work with the dogleg. You will need to add some spacers to lower the trans about
1/2" - 3/4" to keep the angle of the tail shaft in line with the diff.

Also, you may want to slot the holes in the old cross member a bit to make it easier to get the bolts lined up.

Trust me, I know about the spacers. I found out after I had done it.
I have to go back this weekend to put in some spacers.
Any suggestions on what kind of spacers to use?
Would I need longer bolts?

Any other suggestions or advice are greatly appreciated.

thanks.

when i pulled mine out of the wagon (installed at a JY by ???) there were broken/cut braket pieces used
the sedan just had huge nuts.

i took some used SS eyebolts(free from work  ) ~1" thick, almost the same ID, and cut the threads off, perfect!!!

the old bolts were about 1" short, go figure...

You can get the longer bolts at pretty much any hardware store. However thick spacers you use just add that to you new length bolts. Like Dave said 1/2-3/4" add spaces then place trans mount up against the body and check the trans for clearance up around the trans tunnel. Oh by the way we will be at Area B camping at the Mitty.
