spoolinitup33 wrote:One more thing. That Ron Davis radiator that I and S15DET are using, part #1A-22163 is only $279.00, not $450. You only have to modify it like I did if the engine is sitting in the stock location, if you have it moved back towards the firewall some, you won't need to modify it.
Nice i Thought it was 450, 279 sounds more affordable do you have demensions on it

Here's an interesting option if you'd like to get more out of your existing Rad, or inter-cooler. There is a coating made by NIC called C-187 Transfer Black that acts as a surface thermal dispersant. Check out the site http://www.nicindustries.com/heat_dissipation.php I wish I had some hard data to share, but I've read it improves heat diffusion by 30-40% Please bare in mind this is purely hear say, but even if it were 15% it's worth considering. My inter-cooler is being coated with the stuff right now, so we shall see.

just to update this - i called ron davis last week and the 1a-22163 i was told $550 -- they also sell it with fans and shroud for $742. not even close to the earlier posts yes its been 8 + years but thats a lot of price increase-

not sure if i like the "look" of the cx racing rad so im likely ordering a howe 342bm which is 23 x 16 x3 or the summit one listed before of 24 x 16 x 1.75 just not sure if i need the 2 core --

With a CX Racing SR20 radiator, I ended up using Gates 23372 on the upper and Gates 22515 for the lower on my car.

CX Racing makes a pre-fabricated SR20DET S13 Datsun 510 Radiator / intercooler combo:

Has anyone tried this? It seems to be a pretty good price for the complete package (does not include fans though).

Interesting... I am also looking at the TSR and Datsport setups. Any experience with those? They are expensive, but seem high quality.

I contacted Ron Davis, but they don't seem to have anything pre-configured for the 510 S13 SR20DET - they pointed me to ordering a custom setup, which I supposed I could do, but I don't really want to design my own cooling setup.

I've always built my own setup because I can't fine one I like. The CX are poorly made, one I installed I had to cut the tabs off and weld them back on. They pushed the grill out because they were welded 1/2" off...

This is what I normally build. Just an aluminum L rad modified and a smaller IC.

This is off topic, but are those fixed camber plates?
