Thats what I thought...

I guess its a matter of getting used to. Plus i've driven it a handful of times in less than 'everyday' condition.

thanks.

-PCV (some will say remove, IMO, easier & better to keep it.)
-Fuel pump
I found all this stuff in the harness and where it goes to on the engine, I'm half done the wiring and it all makes sense except the fact that my ka doesn't have a knock sensor. Its a '92 s13 ka from an auto car, it ran and drove fine when it was all together. The plug on the harness for the knock sensor just wasn't plugged into anything.

Did automatics not have a knock sensor? I have a KA from a manual car same year that has a knock sensor but it isn't the one I plan to run- should i put it in anyways?

Will the ISR performance header fit the 1970 510 Wagon swap for an S13 Ka24DE Motor? I want to buy these headers but before I do just wanted to see if anyone had some advice.

Probably have a fighting chance if you have a JBC rack but likely not if you have the stock steering box.

I would bank on modifying it as well since it will probably hang low. I know I had to modify some parts of my stock S13 DE 4/2/1 header to get the exhaust tucked recently.

My last revision used the stock S14 header which is more 4-1 style which allows easier exhausting but I needed the rack as a prerequisite. See: http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?p=273646#p273646

From my experience - not easily. I tried a similar design header on my 4 door (the front clip, steering box and everything is all the same) and there was no way... bashed it in pretty good to get it to clear the steering box, but then was going to have to cut it right at the collector to get it to clear the floor - decided I wasnt happy with it and gave up. Ive used the Megan Racing shorty header on my 510 and 620 KA swaps since. There are some post that say its not the best, but has been fine from my experience, although I have nothing to compare it too.

Thankyou Jordan and Demo for your kind input. This thread holds it's worth. Kick ass Solidworks model, I do some SW myself!

It appears that the rack is the way to go to get rid of that steering box (add more space), wondering if you two know anyone who is selling? Researching I found that people are getting more HP with the 4-2-1 than the 4-1 but at the end of the day what much do you expect out of a NA S13.

I see the megan header (https://www.240sxmotoring.com/megan-rac ... der-240sx/) is readily available. I am going to give Cx Racing a call since they sell Turbo KA header kits for the 510 swap. Ask if I can get a 4-2-1 and if there are benefits to it if any.

Anyone selling a ECM? OEM Part # A11-B44 G70? I need to buy one to get her rolling.

Appreciate the feedback.

Yeah me and my buddy Sam designed a rack and pinion conversion. It's cool to be able to use 100% all new steering components in your 50 year old car. So amazingly tight afterwards. I just wanted my 510 to drive as good as it looks!

Also I have a KA goon so I'm back in the club.

Mr. Icehouse I saw your website and am interested in the rack and pinion conversion. Feel free to give me a ring 805.266.5126.

Thanks

This is so incredibly helpful!

Of course I’m about 15 years late to the swap but I’m starting on it now.

I had a question about the mechanical speed sensor. If I’m coming from a 1972, 510 running the sensor into my 1983 280ZX five speed transmission, do I need the entire assembly from a 300 ZX? Or can I just replace the pinion assembly?

Overall, those 300ZX speed sensors seem to be almost impossible to find, and insanely expensive.
