The 510 Realm

Yesterday i got my first 510.
I've looked for a long time, not always seriously, and i found one that was close to home.
After the trip through the border and getting it home I'm super excited.

The car has been painted and needs to be recleared, that's why it has the matte finish right now.
I am going to swap in a ka and not even bother with the l20.
I'm planning on keeping it largely stock until i can run it through the provincial inspection so i can put it on the road.

I'm going into grade 12 this year and I'm hoping to have the car all finished off for grad.

Congrats.....thats my buddy Josh's car from Buckley WA. You better finish that thing its been in the body work state for like four years!

I just pulled the front crossmember out so i can flip it for a ka swap.

That's a bit of a problem right now... TBD

at least it wont be zip tied to the bumper!

Good to have another local member, hope to see you on the road with it.

But you have to lose the ricer spoiler on the trunk! It may be ok for the Honda and Mitsu boyz - but IMO it just doesn't fit a 60's/70's car!

So... I've been dormant for a while but I've gotten some work done on the car. I've cleaned off the dash and prepared the interior for paint- sanded off the ceiling as a headliner is hard to find... The steering column mounts have been spaced to drop the steering wheel a mere 1/2 inch or so. The front struts are out and the steering linkage up front is on its way out. Wheel wells have been scraped to get rid of old undercoat and cleaned off ready for primer. The cross-member is half flipped and getting some attention as well.

Tomorrow I'm getting a goon full floor to ceiling with parts. i am excited, wilwood brakes, rebuilt front end with poly bushings, 280zx struts with 2 inch lowering springs, a better black grill, lots of good stuff, some L series engine parts.... we'll see I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow.

How did you attach your seats? Those are Sparco Torino's, right? I've got the same ones in my car.

i took thick aluminum channel and bolted it onto the bottom of the seat so the front could be bolted to the stock raised seat mount bit... i'll get pictures later, i gotta go to practice:P
For the back of the seats i rigged up a couple of pieces of steel flatbar that bolted into the seatbelt spots and then i was going to get a piece of steel channel to go across and support the aluminum bars perpendicular... the seat wouldn't be adjustable but it's my car and i'd be the only one driving it so w/e.

plan b is to try to adapt the sliders from stock seat to work, i haven't tried yet, i got the stock seats yesterday.

Do you have 4 point belts for your seats?

No I don't have any kind of belts in my car yet. I've gotta get something. I'll probably just get a seatbelt out of a 240 or something and put those in there.

Last night i got the stock sliders off my other seats and it looks like they could work:)

Yeah that looks about like what I did. Except I used a piece of square steel tubing and welded it in. And my seats had rails on them for a honda del sol, I just had to modify them a little bit.
