I'm looking for a place to sandblast a wagon hatch.

I remember Aron telling me about a u-do-it place in Langley... any idea if I could fit a hatch in their cabinets?
Or where it is for that matter?

Know of another cheap solution?

I need to strip the '68 wagon's hatch inside and out. My sanding arm is getting worn out!

If you find a place, let me know, I've got to prep some largish pieces too ... I gave myself tendonitis from banging in fence posts with a sledgehammer last week, so I'm up for a low labour method!

Those cabinets look a little small for the hatch Richard, I thought I gave you the spare white hatch?

Have them soda blast it. Don't use sand as a blast media for any body parts or you'll warp them badly.

Ublast has extensions on their cabinets. They will fit a hatch. and they have all the different media materials. I go there often. Good company.

Hi guys,

I thought I would share one of my experiences with the forum of a local company in Vancouver that does
some sandblasting services at reasonable prices. I have been fabricating a extension onto my rear louvred
grill for my R5 Turbo as it was short about 6 inches to cover off the silencer. The piece is around 48 x 6 inches
and is made of 18 guage steel. Eric and Paul over at Salvage Studios blasted it for me with glass media. Surface was
free off all paint and surface rust (very little anyways) ready to accept a primer coat. As the webpage says,
they are near King Edward and Main street in the alley behind the Able Rental tools. They do furniture,
wheels and car related stuff. They also use dry ice for food safe applications. They did a very thorough Job!

I was hunting for somewhere close in town that would be open on Saturdays and they were.

hey Richard the place that I used was Langley restorations I think.. it was 5 years ago that I
used them. it is outside under cover, and size doesn't matter. I did my whole car there.
but I did it during the summer, you would want to get it premiered immediately.

As for blasting panels and warping them,....you could warp any metal with an aggressive
sand blaster. the technique you use is very important. If you don't have any idea what to do,
it would best be left to someone that knows.

there was another guy just down the street by KMS. He also did "U blast" but I think he is gone now. There is just the guy next to the powdercoater and the guys in Richmond off of Bridgeport by Shell Rd (East of the tracks 1st buildings on the North side)
