Where's the banner?

Post by bertvorgon »

Something while I think about it........

Who has the 510 club banner? We need to put our heads together, to remember when it was last used, and then go from there.

Hmm.... Kinda heavy you say? Nah, couldn't be me, I wouldn't lift anything heavy  ! Seriously though, I don't have it, I think it disappeared a couple of years ago at the North Vancouver show?

That's what I am thinking...I can kinda remember someone saying they would take it till the next show. We were all packing up, and the banner ws the last thing to go.

I wonder what does it cost for a banner? I would not mind kicking in for a new one, maybe add the 510Realm web address on the bottom of it.

Who made it, or, got it made. I seem to remember someone through racing....I should call Noel...he will remember...his brain is not as old as mine....

I have just spent this morning going through my album and digital pictures, and this picture is from All Nissan 2006, so..THE LAST KNOWN SIGHTING! Kinda like where's Waldo.

It has to be with one of our core group, as it was always under the control of the club. I will double check up stairs at work, at least to do my part.

I wasn't at the 2006 show so I don't know who had it Keith. It should turn up though, it's just been forgotten somewhere ...

I do believe it was Lorne Stead that made it.

I'll check at home too, next time i'm there.

Keith,

I'll also again look though my locker, but as I had about 5 club guys helping me move - I'm sure someone would have sighted it if it was in my possession.
I was the last person to leave the September show that year, and I know there was nothing left at the park...
I was the last out of the show this year as well - clean as a whistle!

Lorne Stead was the guy who made that banner. Not that I'm saying that our old banner needed replacing, but it was looking a little worse for wear the last time it was hung - but you picture makes it look good!

I thought it was Lorne.

I figure if we all do a good search, the core group, it will show up. I double checked up stairs at work, and it is not there.

If it does not show up, we should get a new one made.

In my absence - I would agree that we do need a banner for the shows. We should check with James, it's possible that it was last used at the Classic All Japanese Meet in the spring of 2007...

THAT....is truly funny..I just fell off my chair....good work.

I love the insane humour that lurks on this site...I can see this becoming the "Where's the 510 banner?"
