Cool! I dig any old boxy looking sedan. Any plans? Would look great lowered over some mesh wheels, or some panasports. I know that Classic Motorsports has one of these as a project, someplace to look for inspiration.

I love the 142's. 144's are cool too. Theres some guy running a 73 142 around here, it's light blue, black wheels(panasport knockoffs) it looks SWEET, I have actually been looking for one because my wife loves volvos so it would be a good car to buy for her. I can fix it up and hot rod it and she'd never know. It would be like haveing two daily driver project cars!!

Love them. 122's, 1800's all of them. There was a guy running one of the early 60's bubble top sedans (dont know the model) looked very top heavy, but passed me in the back straight at Buttonwillow.
Those 144's look great in race trim.

I like them cars with Panasports.
GrassRootsMotorsport had a rebuild of one of those motors.I believe they used a Pertronix conversion to trigger a MSD Box w/signal going to a Megasquirt to a latter b20 FI system.(try look it up)
Cars are abit heavy. Well almost too HEAVY But as a daily driver would be cool
MY buddy has a Volvo P1800.

I had one too, a '71. It was the first EFI year, and gave me nothing but trouble. Great on style points, but was a real drag on reliability.

This is my daily driver. Imagine my surprise to hear you guys talking about my other car. It's for sale too, but it's a long story. GREAT cars! Only two advantages over the 510's, four-wheel disc brakes stock, and SLA double wishbone front suspension. But the 510 that's been on a dolly in my garage for years (visible in the background) is the main focus.

The shift lever pulling out is an easy fix. The lever is held into the top of the transmission by a large threaded cup. Tightening the cup adds pre-load the bushings on top and botton of the pivot ball on the shift lever. It should just screw back together. I've had to do this road-side a few times, don't ask.

Yes, without even leaving the drivers side seat. The small rubber boot will lift up with the carpet, if you have carpet (it was an option), and you'll see the top of the transmission, and the large nut.
