Ahh that new engine smell

Post by Blk68510 »

Well here it is, finally running again with a fresh engine!
Some specs
L20b U60 block re ringed and honed
U60 head shaved 40 thou, deshrouded valves, and polished intake/exaust ports.

Now all i need now is to re jet the carb beacuse it's running really rich, get my exaust re done because it's htting the floor, and get an EI dizzy because the points are not cutting it for this motor.

nice!, I see you have a weber like mine. If you need any help jetting, I would gladly help. I have a reasonable selection of jets that you could try. do you have a mixture monitor?< or is it the spark plug reading method? I found that jetting these is a two step operation. Jet the primary, then do the secondary. Pitch those points!!!

I heard that switching to the stock L20B Carb, with proper tuning can produce more than a properly tuned DGV Weber downdraft; costs a fraction of the price.

Is this true? (While we're on the topic of jetting..)

EDIT: Also, I noticed you shaved the head .040".

From what I was told from NUMEROUS L-series freaks, that is the worst thing one can do to a head, due to the fact that you have created more slack in the timing chain.

Have you noticed any timing differences since the milling? I'd like to know so I don't totally screw my only 210 (Crap) head.

Thanks.
