My 71 4-Door 510 Project
My 71 4-Door 510 Project
Hello everyone
Most of you don’t know me, but at least one of you does. I’m making some progress on my 71 510 project and I thought I would share it with you all.
This project started on February 27th 2005 and only now she finally got paint.
Here’s what it looked like before it was striped for paint
Here is what it looks like today (April 13 2005)
This car will be ready for Shasta. I guarantee it!

RE: My 71 4-Door 510 Project
looks good...i am jealous
Thanks it took a lot of time to get it done. I just put the new engine in last Saturday the 5th. It cost around $1000 for all the bodywork and paint together. But it would have been a lot less if the first guy I had start it would have finished it.

The paint is just a color I picked from a sample slab. I got it at a local paint store here is Phoenix. I have the recipe for the color if you want it onslot.onslot wrote:looks great is that 1969 camaro lemans blue ?
I just used a die grinder with a scratch rite sanding disks. It worked very well.true.dat wrote:what tool did you use, to strip it down to the metal like that?
did you remove the windshield and gaskets to paint it? or did you leave it on.
Thanks Lou, the temperature has been staying blow 90 every day now so it’s perfect weather to get out and get some work done.510Freak wrote:Looking good Rich,Glad to see it going together now, I guess the weather has finaly cooled down there now , cheers Lou
Thanks for the advice shwyn510 I will definitely try it your way.shwyn510 wrote:hey rv, i just used 2 bolts on the far end of the air dam. and then i used a couple more right before the holes for the brakes. the fitiment will never be "perfect" but with a little time you'lll get it right. most likely you will never be able to mount the middle of the spoiler though.
