MISSION CACC RACE #3

Post by bertvorgon »

Afternoon All,

This weekend is the 3rd race of the season at Mission Raceway.

If testing on Tracey's NEW motor goes well today, I will be out helping and taking lots pf pictures.

Weather looks to be perfect.

So far testing has been good, leaned the motor out a tad from previous setting last season.

Look forward to seeing some familiar faces again,

Keith

Morning World.

For the most part, a good weekend of racing. I was there for Saturday, Fridays test day went well with the new motor and drivers getting used to the car again. Both did well!

Tracey qualified 3rd on the grid, having a Tesla next to her. That fellow, through the weekend, kept blocking her, Tracey had a 4 second a lap time diff on him. Turns out he was quite the "chimp" in attitude on Sunday.

It rained basically during the lunch break, that could not have worked out better! The usual buffet was delicious!

Don Nimi had a close call during the open wheel race. Going into Turn 2 his wheel got clipped by another driver, spinning them both but the other fellow went into the concrete HARD. It was enough to red flag the race and the ambulance attended. Shot story Don's car ok, the fellow was ok, car not so, accident put the schedule an hour behind, so Tracey's race was not until almost 5 pm.

I ran into a few old friends from the early Solo days, that was just great. They are planning a kind of "old days" meet later in July, hoping to have a lot of us older Slalom people from the Boundary Bay days, in the 70's. That would just be too much fun, I would bring some memorabilia and pictures.

I also spent a good chunk of time talking to Jamie, so nice to reminisce about the beginning days of the 510 club and other adventures we did.

I am posting up in this thread, a Datsun 510 Wagon that is for sale, but, will also post up in the classified section too. You don't want to miss this one of you are serious about getting a 510.

I had my usual nice cruise out and back in the G35, other than a massive accident that had happened at 16th and 264th, a semi and God knows....

When I crossed over #1 highway, east bound was gridlocked and not moving as far as the eye could see, and west bound was grid locked but moving ever so slowly, again glad I have this new route I do. Our so called freeway is just so done in it's ability to handle volume.
