YAh...my SAD's is killing me!

Hard wind and rain here in White Rock, 6 C, been like that all day.

South wind coming straight in at my poor old house, oiling the furnace bearings every hour.......

I remember Cathy describing Horsefly to me "we drove up there in June and there was still now on the ground!"

Last Monday I was up in the mountains on Vancouver Island, doing some unfinished family business.

On the way, we encountered torrential rain...snow...hail...torrential rain..thought it was going to break the glass on my Honda sunroof! And cold...was about 6C most of the day, with the sun popping through to take the chill off for an hour or so.

The snow level is still really low and LOTS of it. I hope there is not a quick warm up as the melt runoff could be bad.

Most of my 10 days on the Island it got no warmer than 10C with 2C a couple of nights..NUTS!

I will post up a few pictures later today.

Morning World,

Another cold, rainy day here in White Rock, it was actually nice yesterday away from the water. 10C right now.

Here are a few pictures of where my wife and I went last week, through what I described above. The winter storm blow down was not cleared from the trail to the Lake, so that was tough to say the least for my wife and her knees. Normally the snow is not that heavy nor that low in the mountains at this time of year.

I am not sure why B.C. Hydro is keeping the Lake so low, and, it has been getting lower over the years. It is 20 feet lower now and what used to be a small island, Rainbow Island, is now walkable to. We used to have to wade through waist deep water to get there. They talk about a dry February and March, but, we have been going there since the 80's and have watched it getting lower and lower.

Those low clouds at the South end of the lake were soon to hit us just as we got back to the van. It was cold too, maybe 8C.

Weather still looks to be wet and rainy again, especially on Monday a big system coming.

I'd rather be there on a cold raining day than here in the sunshine. Such a beautiful part of the world you live in.
