Hi Guys, I know there isn't much activity on here these days, but thought I'd give it a shot nonetheless. Recently picked up this 510. Apparently this car came from the Okanagan and was used for Auto-X a few owners back. There are some holes indicated by black tape on the rear truck and was told that the car used to have a spoiler on it. I thought it might be cool to add one back on, but was had no idea what I am looking for if I could even find one.
Does anybody know this car? And if so, any ideas on what type of spoiler was on here?

Looks like the photos were taken in the lower mainland.
Hopefully someone can chime in and give you some history on the car.
Hope to see you out at local events when they start happening.

i remember a place called creative trends , they had this style of flared fenders and spoiler. that was back in the late 80's . what about specialty? the two tone grey / silver 510 on the web site has this style spoiler.
ding ding dong dong all night long long.

I think you might be right regarding specialty. I've sent them a message to see if they still make that spoiler since it looks like the rest of the body kit is from them. From what I know of the car, it's been in BC for quite a while, so would seem reasonable that the parts are from them.

Hi Byron,
I was actually just talking to Paul last night who mentioned your name to me. Nice to meet you (over the internet at least). My brother-in-law used to work with Paul and introduced us when he heard we got a 510. I was picking his brain on where to find parts to try and get this car into modified collectors condition.
Paul mentioned that you guys might have some events again in the near future, so I'm definitely looking forward to coming out and meeting the gang.

Here is a picture of my car's first permutation, before flares, with Specialty airdam, circa 1979/80

Keith,
This is my first 510 circa 1984. It looks similar to the air dam that is being discussed.
I don't remember where I bought it. Where was Specialty back in the early 80's?

Specialty in that time period was on Blackie Street in New Westminster, just up from the first Sky Train station built in 1986.
Andy moved in 2009 to the current location at the Delta Heritage Air Park.
That air dam style was the flavour of the day, a progression from the classic BRE air dam.
Here is a picture of Brent Wilson's 510 just before he flew off Turn 7 at Knox Mountain, writing the car off and luckily not injuring himself.
Here is a picture of my 1972 sedan with another version of airdam that I built out of aluminum and had token brake ducts blowing air at the rotor, NOT into the rotor.
When the need for some true high speed stability came about, mainly with the road race 510's, when we built the 4 cars, Andy designed the flowing air dam to blend into the flares and of course truly incorporate real air ducts for brake cooling. I just went with the flow as I needed flares and benefited from the high speed stability, as I did the track nights at Westwood and of course the Cannonball's to the Interior B.C. slaloms. I would take the airdam off for most slaloms so I would not hit a cone.
