Morning World!
I was graciously invited to attend a roll out test day put on by Tim Brown of Brown Brothers Ford, and through Specialty Engineering, to see Tim's fleet of the new Ford GT race and street car, staggering examples of engineering.
Only 45 have been built of the "track only", 700 HP GT Supercar.
Stay tuned for pictures of course. Specialty took their two cars out for the day also, which is always a treat to watch.
Unfortunately, a gear stripped in Andy's GT-1 car on his 4th lap. We had to rescue the car with the car hauler on the track, as the grinding would not allow it to be safely driven back without doing more damage.

I got sidetracked getting my vintage Boler ready for camping.
As it turned out, with driveshaft out of Andy's GT-1 car, the bearing carrier failed in the differential, pretty much junking it. He said he will check out the transmission anyhow, just to be safe too.
Here are some pictures from the day, to hear the Ford scream down the track is hard to describe. The Ford V-6 3.5L EcoBoost engine makes 700 HP, 800 with a chip and exhaust change apparently. The "Track" only car has been built with no option to fit into ANY race category, Ford wanted to NOT have to compromise on anything, so handling was paramount. It has a top speed just over 200 MPH, and at 150 MPH, it makes between 1,800 to 1,900 lbs of downforce at 150 MPH!!!! Tim said he was really sore after doing a day at Area 27, as the car develops 2 G's of cornering force. JEEZUS, at the best on race tires on my car, I could hit 1.2 G's on a toss in. I guess for 1.5 Million CDN dollars, it BETTER be staggering.
Getting in and out of the car is a bit of a challenge, wow is it tight!
Tim is a very good driver, so he can actually maximize the car's performance, touching 141 MPH at Mission and I think I heard a lap time of around 1:04, which is very, very fast for Mission.
Tim also brought out the "stock" GT, which sell for some, $800,000 CDN, it makes around 200 hp less then the race one.
Lots of stuff about the cars on the Net so I will leave it at that. I did shoot a video of the car on the track but unfortunately cannot post on here, my new camera shoots 4K video and the sound is AWESOME! I will see if I can upload to my Vimeo account.
The site has been quiet so here are some pictures to enjoy.

I guess that sums it up for today.
I heard some discussion of Specialty rolling up to Area 27 later in the season, I would sure be up for a day trip if that is going to happen!!!!!
I need to get on my 510 next as I almost have my Boler ready for our first camping trip.

Some $,$$$,$$$ at the track that day! Great photos, thanks for sharing. Really is something to hear those types of cars fly about...might even be better than watching.
