Best weatherstripping/squeegie/felt/etc source?

Post by shaddai »

Howdy 510'ers. I just picked up a four door 510 sedan two weeks ago and clearly it lived a large amount of it's life outside. Pretty much every window seal is toast or past toast. I've found a few places online that sell weatherstripping and what not, but I've heard of questionable quality. I don't want to spend major coin, but I am not going to cheap out either (so I'm staying off eBay for these). I am not looking to replace the windshield or rear window strips at this time...

What I've found so far that seems not unreasonable:
new-datsun-parts.com

More coin:
vintagerubber.com

I've also come across datsport, which looks like they're in Australia? I'm confused by their site, let alone what I need. There are a lot of parts to these doors!

Thoughts?

Also, pics for clicks.

Baz is great. I always feel good buying stuff from him. It's great quality and his service is beyond reproach.
The company motto seems to be "We're not happy 'till you're not happy."

Redid my entire seal program with Baz 18 years ago, and everything is still holding up well.

Spend the coin on DatSport, otherwise you will be spending the coin again in a few years! Plus they KNOW the 510......will know exactly what you want, unless that language barrier comes into play...........CRIKEY!!!!!

So I took the plunge... stuff is on it's way. It's strange to get so excited about impending rubbery bits.

You're not wrong to be excited-- we get it! :D

I bought my new seals from Baz more than 7 years ago (near the start of my resto) and have just now been putting them in, the last couple of weeks. They fit super well and make a tremendous difference! You won't be disappointed!

Try to think of all the little bits you will need from Baz so you only pay once for shipping. Gas door bumpers. Trunk and door bumpers. Door lock grommets. Hood rail bumpers. You get the idea.
