Late post. Picked up a S13 blacktop Sr20det on Sunday. 6hr trip from NorCal to Thousand Oaks. Got to test drive the car before the motor was pulled. Compression was on point. Very happy dude.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Last week I pleaded my case with Edmond's Battery, to warranty my existing battery, which I have suspected as randomly faulty. He did a load test..where he said there was a "wobble"..huh? Then he said it was ok..I said...what is a "wobble"? The phone rings so he goes to answer, which left my battery on the tester...when he came back, it was close to the red line. He gave me some grief that I should check other stuff...I said I have gone all through the usual suspects, there is something not right with this battery. Finally, after 10 minutes of letting him know what has gone on..he relents and gives me a new battery...almost 3 years to the day.
I dropped the new battery in today and of course it cranked and fired instantly. I then headed over to Specialty to spend a few hours washing the bugs off from the Penticton drive. Car ran flawlessly after that last drive, so all is good, I will adjust the valves before our next drive.
Should I have a cranking issue crop up now, I will peel that starter motor out that Robyn gave me a and put in my original but rebuilt starter.
I use almost a half tank of methanol after slicing and dicing with that Z06..those sprayers were on for awhile....!

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Today I re-fueled the car after the Fort Casey drive, checked it over for any issues, leaks etc, all good. I used about 11 gallons for that trip.
I am now just under 1,600 Miles for the season, my goal was at least, 2,000 miles this season. With a drive to Winthrop in September, I will hit that no problem.
My car now has 95,910 miles on the chassis, just under 400 hrs on the engine since building in 2001.
Oh, yah, thanks to Funwithmonkeys, I have a very neat treasure that I bagged up today, ready for when needed!!!!

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Today I headed over to Specialty, to adjust the valves and looks thing over. I had two loose intakes and one tight exhaust, everything looked good. Stupid traffic out there today and lots of police again, they are using a Ford Fusion I think, white and silver as their ghost cars on #99. The shear volume of traffic is just astounding these days, I shudder to think what it is going to be like when school is back in, even with the NDP getting rid of the tolls on the Port Mann, maybe the Alex Fraser will get a bit better.
Turned the boost up a hair today.......
Yesterday I walked into a Baskin & Robbins in Oak Harbour, Wa, with my 510 shirt on. The gentleman behind the counter asks: "Do you have a 510?" "Yes!" I reply. He proceeds to tell me he grew up in a 1971 Wagon, best car he remembers, that his parents ever had.

We need more 510 shirts...bertvorgon wrote: Yesterday I walked into a Baskin & Robbins in Oak Harbour, Wa, with my 510 shirt on. The gentleman behind the counter asks: "Do you have a 510?" "Yes!" The other day the wife and I are headed into the hardware store and I too was wearing anNorthwest is an 510 shirt with a 510 silloette on the back - and a young guy drives up beside us in larger slammed and Stan ed RHD Toyota sedan and says - you have a 510? He didn't look 18 and he first thing I can think of is "Why is this kid even asking about a 50 year old car, and doing so with large amounts of enthusiasm?" I kept my thoughts to myself, and had a nice short conversation with the guy. But honestly it does blow me away. This guys dad was too young to know much about 510's!
I drove the Bronze around a bit today and every time I got out of the car, it started and ended in a conversation with someone I'd never seen before. It continually blows me away. But it's also pretty cool.

Mocked up these fuel lines my buddy Scott Dart bent up for me. Prepping the under carriage for some rubberized coating. Doing this on jack stands is a major pain in the ass!

Did you find the rad support and inner 1/4 sheet metal you were requesting - or did you end up simply fabricating the parts you needed?
Good to see it coming back together.

I didn't need a radiator support i needed the Valance a`69. Was going to fix the messed up one in which I got banged out straight and ready for mud but a `69 unit was offered and I took it. Was going to get a Futofab valance but theirs are 70-73 only and the driving/signal indicator lamps are different in length making the recess in the valance for the lamp longer. Would have required some sheet metal fab work to close it up some which I was going to do until a 69 came along. I pulled out the inner sheet metal and straightened that all out but did aquire a piece of that area from another 510 for a great price. Next is blocking and will rattle can some 77 Corvette yellow you can buy over the work just to seal it from the elements until paint late next year.
