My Monday afternoon
Today I popped over to our local regional airport, where a B25 was parked, having flown up from Arizona on a fund raising tour, and making awareness of the old WarBirds. They were also giving rides, should one want to cough up some serious cash.
I did have a long talk with the pilot about a few things, my dad of course being in WW2, the Norden Bomb sight (on this plane), and fuel. I wondered what they burn. Turns out the 100LL, same as I do. He was quite fascinated by that, and, that I was aware of the potential for the 100LL to be gone. The MOGAS that is out there, would NOT be able to be run in those engines, and they have "de-tuned" them as far as they can. They burn 150 gallons an hour. Even without converting US to Imperial, that translates to about $1,200+ CDN/hr. He said they can hardly go anywhere for the most part, as it is so expensive now.
Anyhow, it was fascinating for me, to be inside, and think of all the young men that went up in these aluminum cans, and the danger they faced every Mission. I thought of my Dad, going up in the Lancaster, as did Mcshaggers grandfather, wondering if they would come back at the end of the day. For that we can be thankful, for their sacrifices, that give us our lives today.

Re: My Monday afternoon
Yeah that was great! Glad you made it out. My Dad and I had fun pouring over the details of that awesome plane. 27 years restoration and it shows!
Here's a little vid I made of the plane taxiing in.

Hey Greg!
Yes, that is by the new terminal, right next to the restaurant.
Also firing up was this pristinely restored Grumman Goose. There have been a lot of them used on our coast over the years that I have seen, but none as nice as this one.
