I am reading through the 73-84 Repair manual. I ran across this vacuum diagram in the Emission Control 4-29/30.

Right below the arrow pointing to the spark delay valve it says for automatic transmissions but I find this part on both L20's with manual transmissions and it is missing on the one L20 with the automatic. Does anyone know why this would be? Would this part have any effect on throttle response?
