^ Former Haas employee. That's pretty awesome news.

It's looking like it will be the Mercedes show again this year. They didn't even touch the softest 2 types of rubber in testing. I quess we will really find out Sunday. They are apparently closing in on 50% efficiency with this motor. Over 800hp from the 1.6L. That is pretty darn impressive.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

" Over 800hp from the 1.6L. That is pretty darn impressive" back in the early days (80's) BMW was getting close to 1300-1500 in their qualifying 1.5l 4cyl. motors and would de-tune them to the 800+HP

I have seen a lot about those motors BMW was putting out. They used the road car blocks for their race engines and only ones with more than 100000 miles on them. They would also leave them out for at least a winter outside the engine factory. That way they were sure there were no issues with the blocks before they turn them into a 1500hp monster good for 350kMs. It would be interesting to see what they could do today with an unlimited amount and flow rate of fuel. If they only had to last a race distance it would drastically change them also....right now they only get 5 per season.
