1973 Nova. my 510's bigger brother
1973 Nova. my 510's bigger brother
Being that I'm transferring in July I thought I might as well get my piece of American classic. I went looking for an early 60s nova/chevy 2, but settled on a 73. It's become the new money pit. Tires, master cylinder, heater core, thermostat, hei dist, wires, plugs, so on... it's the daily driver now. Everything works down to the glove box light! I still drive the 510 but only on weekends.

I have to admit this body style has grown into a classic for me.
Personally I really like the 2nd gen Chev II (67-70?). I guy in high school had one in silver, looked great.
But anything of this era still on the road commands respect. These cars were as bad as our 510's for rusting out in this part of the world.
I use to regularly drag a guy with my first 510 - a 73 lime green 2dr; he had a straw colored 6 cyl 3 spd Nova the same body style as yours. We both knew we were the underdogs, but because we weren't serious about it, I think we had just as much fun. Love to have had the 2.2 Frankenmotor then that I have now Just dreamin'.
Thanks for postin'.

That's sweet! reminds me of my 73 I had since I was 16, up until just a couple years ago! ...before I painted it
They're great, and fun cars.
Mine was running a 454 with a 700r4 haha.
Any plans for yours? Or just keeping it a reliable daily driver for now?
Here's the most recent picture I had of it before I sold it.

that's one beautiful Nova! I don't blame you for selling, the price has risen so much that it hard to resist. I just drove mine all the way to Chesapeake, VA! that's the new duty station come July. it handled the trip surprising well. no hiccups and averaged 18mpg. eventually, i'm going to get the heads rebuilt and add the x pipe to the exhaust. i'll be able to paint in the nice detached garage I got at the new house so that'll come first. well after the house is in order..

Who don't love Nova's? but get rid of those bumpers for the earlier smaller ones if you can.
