Re: New 510 to B.C.
I am sure we saw this at Canby a few years ago. I was a fan of the chrome window frames then- still am! The rest of the car is equally impressive. Very nice!
Re: New 510 to B.C.
Is that the car that Art Hughes used to mention from time to time? (his car's 'rival,' so to speak)

Re: New 510 to B.C.
This car came out of Oregon, long time 510 guy and racer, friend of Collin.
Loren St. Lawrence
January 27, 1940 - July 10, 2014
Loren passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 10, 2014, with his beloved wife Barbara by his side. Loren had survived an eight-year battle with cancer, saying, "I got cancer, but cancer didn't get me." He died of complications of aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease.
Born January 27, 1940, in White Salmon, WA, Loren grew up in Camas and Yakima, WA. He graduated from high school in Yakima in 1958 and attended Oregon College of Education in Monmouth where he met and fell in love with Barb. He graduated Monmouth with a B.A. in Education and a Masters degree in Counseling. Loren taught middle school and then mentored high school students as a guidance counselor at South Salem High School. Loren enjoyed racing sports cars throughout the U.S. and Canada during the 60's, 70's, and 80's winning in a variety of cars including Datsuns, BMW's and Mercedes all bearing his number "39". In 1982 Loren's love of auto racing led to an opportunity to work for Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis where he directed motorsports marketing and sponsorship for the various events. In 1991 Loren returned to guidance counseling at Webster-Grove High School in St. Louis, mentoring kids and coaching the school's golf team to the state tournament. Loren and Barb "took the checkered flag" on their education careers in 2000, returning to Salem to be with longtime friends and family. In retirement he loved traveling with friends and family, playing golf and fly fishing. His love of cars continued as he enjoyed taking his restored Datsun 240Z, Datsun 510 and his '37 Ford Slantback hot rod to car shows all over the Northwest. Loren was one of a kind who truly "lapped the field" of life and had hundreds of stories to tell about his adventures. His positive impact on the lives of the kids he counseled into adulthood was undeniable. Loren was exceedingly generous with his time, energy, and resources to family, friends, and loved ones. He will be truly missed by all who were lucky to have been part of his life.
As a life-long race driver and auto enthusiast Loren knew how to finish life's race, "braking late" for the last turn and giving life as much throttle as it could take.
Loren is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years: Barbara (Kessler) St. Lawrence, sister: Verna Price, and brother-in-law and sidekick: Norman Price, niece: Marti Price-Morton (Joel), nephew: Greg Price (Patti), and grand-nephews: Connor and Henry Morton, and Quinton Price.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission or the Salemtowne Foundation. A celebration of his life will be held in August.
