vw and other metal flares

seen some questions about metal flares for our 510's and thought we could group some info together
we did this to a 510 a while ago using front fenders from a dodge omni. similar to a vw golf but flares are a touch wider.

Wow that looks great. And thanks for the Dodge Omni lead. I will look into that for the RX3 I'm doing could be a better option.

Nice, this should have its own thread! Are you using front or rear Omni & where did you get them? You mentioned a touch WIDER.......by approximately how much? Our guy still hasn't committed, but I'm a 510 guy myself, so still very interested in doing this some day!

I see now you used Omni FRONT fenders.............did you also flare the front of the 510? Same flare?

yes used 4 front fenders from dodge omni. 2 right and 2 left. the rears i swapped right for left so profile fit better visually .
i believe when i measured them, the flare was almost an inch bigger than the vw rabbit flare.
I hunted through auto wreckers for them. not sure if you can get re pops.

That's been my hang up...can't find NEW repop Omni fenders! The Rabbit ones ARE available repop. Just heard from our customer this morning....he says he found a set of ZG flares made for the 510, so that must be the direction he is going.............
