SR20DET throttel cable

Post by onekickkawi »

I have read that most people use the 240 throttle cable. I ordered one and installed it but it is really short. it works fine for testing right now but I would like to find something longer. Any ideas? I believe the one I have is about 32" See Picture.

That is what I used, I have not had any issues with mine thus far with multiple track days on it.

I would just like to route it behind the engine block for a cleaner look and so its not so tight. The car is still being pieced together but I would like to find a good cable. I know there are universal ones so I may have to go with that.

Really getting momentum on the 510 again. been long over due. trying to get everything cleaned up... and then bodywork one day. I am running all connections through the firewall using some old military banjo connectors. makes a nice, clean, waterproof fit. I can disconnect and reconnect if needed and there is only one way to connect it so no worries about a short or mistake.

Hey All so I ended up buying a throttle cable for an eclipse. I Really like the clean look of it (makes a nice 90* turn after the firewall). I had to cut off 12"~ off the end. I then took a 3/8-24 x 2" bolt and cut the head off. I bored a .25" hole 1.75" deep and a 1/8 hole through the rest.

Probably too late now but the S13 KA24E throttle cable is a bunch shorter than the S13 KA24DE cable.

Nice job on the custom cable!

I only tried a sr20 one and didn't like its fit... my overall goal is to keep the car as clean as possible and this seemed to do the trick

I measured it up, I just havent installed it (when I have free time its too hot... aka lazy me)

The cable was from ATP part number Y1154. Should fit Eclipse's from 1990-1995

The cable will be way to long if you dont trim it down though
