Wow, that is a great start, and what looks to be a really cool build project. Good job on the cage. At $5k, it sure stimulates the DIY vibe. You can buy a lot of tools and raw material for that money.

Next is to add a wheel intrusion bar between the A-Pillar post and the wheel well, in line with the lower door bar.

I used cheater bends and wooden dowels with a scribed center line to figure out clocking on the front hoop bars.

The whole thing took longer than I thought. Lots of head scratching, test fitting etc but I am happy with the result.

The bender was about $900Cdn. I could probably recover a lot of that if I sold it. Steel was $850. Notcher $100. Add $250 for consumables and I'm way ahead. I also learned a ton. Just don't put a value on your time, it ruins the math...

When I started this project, I knew that the rear quarters needed serious repair. My first thought was to use Wolfe Steel repair panels. Unfortunately the rear wheel arch shape isn't close to the Futofab wheel house outer. There is also a roll to the panel that would make fitting and blending them a nightmare. You would have to do some mid panel magic around the line below the supersonic line...way out of my league. If anyone is in the area and wants to try them, they will cost you a beer. See below, LMK if you are interested.

Unfortunately Futofab was out of full quarters when I was looking. On a trip back to Australia I was surprised to find a dealer with 6 sets. I guess he doesn't sell a lot of 2 door stuff since they only had 4 doors. I bought a set, packed them up and brought them home as checked baggage.

Test fitting this panel is getting close. It's nice to see something that looks like a car. I need to fit the passenger door and trunk lid and do a ton of fiddling to get the 2 quarters, trunk gutters and tail light panel to fit. Any advice welcome.

Welcome to the Realm.
Great to see a new project on the go, do keep us updated as you progress. There is a wealth of information here on the Realm and within it's members.

And Summerland... looks like we have a new day trip location for a cruise for this spring/summer. Interested in entertaining a few of us from the coast mid-day one weekend? There are many ways to get to you that are "fun" routes.

Yah, I agree road trip to Summerland, we could do the Aspen grove loop from Princeton to the Connector, then to Summerland, then back via Penticton.

I like my steak medium well, my lawn chair set at 45 degrees, and very cold lemonade for my drink.

Byron, Keith and others, you are welcome here anytime. Plenty of room if you want to make a weekend of it.

Keith, Willowbrook Rd, Green Lake Rd and Twin Lakes Rd were all repaved last year and are amazing. Link those up with Green Mountain Rd (with a side track to Apex) and it gives you a sweet route between Penticton/ OK Falls and Oliver.

Hey Mike, I bought a full set of floor pans from Chris Deshane. They are well made and didn't need much persuasion to fit.

You can find him on Facebook.

Yeah, the cage quote was high enough to make me consider doing it myself..Happy I did.

Catching up on a few things I have done when I get sick of the grinder. I'm also trying out links from imgur...hope they work.

Cleaned up the heater. The core holds water and I was able to get the valve moving. Note the adjustable pressure relief valve in the test rig.
