Well haven't had any updates since I'm away from home for work until probably November. Getting retrained in Barrie Ontario so if anyone is around that area let me know! Found out I'll have almost two weeks off between some courses and a show falls right in line so passing on info to my dad so the car will be ready when I get home. Need to get my intake angled to fit the new header (5 degrees sound about right?) And get an exhaust put together. Can't wait to see my girl again

Heard from my dad today that the intake should be done pretty soon, the guy who does machine work back home had a huge order from a local company that pushed back his other customers. My vacation from work starts a day before the biggest show in Atlantic Canada so hoping he can get everything mostly squared away before that. Grand prize this year is a 1967 Malibu SS, everyone who enters has a ballot go into a hat and the draw is made the last day of the show, can't miss out on that!

And also found a new picture of my car i didn't know was out there. I have a new computer background now haha

Got home to finally work on the car and got my carb/manifold problem sorted out. Also got the exhaust roughly put into place just need to get some clamps and hangers put in there tomorrow.

Final thing to get it on the road is a throttle cable. Checked the local large autoparts stores and they had nothing, going to check out the smaller locally owned speed shops tomorrow and hopefully will be driving it around after that.

The generic Lokar cable kit works well....soon you'll be faster than that dog of yours.

I actually have one already but it's cut to fit my edelbrock/holley carb setup and is too short for the webers. If i can get it local I'd 100% buy another, just don't want to wait for shipping haha.

And he's not that fast anymore he's retired now haha, spends the majority of the day laying on his bed.

Well finally settled in the new place and finally have my baby back. First order of business was to swap out the old 13s for a set of SSR MkII's. Running 14x7+0 up front and 14x7.5 -6 out back. Was worried my rears might not fit but turns out my 13s were more aggressive than I was told and they fit they exact same. Only markings on them are 13x7 and was told they were 0 offset but they fit closer to a -10 it seems.

Up next will be finally picking up an r180 and maybe some brakes at some point.

Maybe even getting the 620 here soon, still deciding what engine I want to put in that. It's great to be back!

Next order of business isn't as cool as bigger brakes or rear coils but it needs to be done all the same. Crossmember and mustache bar bushings are totally shot so ordered a set of both from Whiteline, while I have everything off might as well do the rear control arms so have a set from Energy on the way too. Going to clean up and paint everything while im at it and probably get the exhaust hole enlarged so I'm not rattling my 2 1/4" exhaust against it while idling.

Poor things :(

Def looks like time for new bushings. On the rear a-arm bushings, is your crossmember slotted, or otherwise adjustable? Most versions of adjustable crossmembers won't work with poly a-arm bushings. They'll bind, adding tons of spring rate.

Also looks like you might benefit from a CV axle setup, given the angularity of your half shaft. Any vibrations at speed (buzzy rear view mirror)?

Welcome back!

Don't make my mistake and do poly on the rear control arms. Put them in the crossmember and mustache bar but NOT in the controls arms. Just put new OEM ones in and you'll be very happy.

Thanks!

Mine aren't adjustable so hopefully will be fine. And surprisingly don't have any vibrations, a CV kit is definitely something I'd like to pick up in the future though.

Got a good chunk of work done today! Crossmember is out, control arms are off, and diff is out!

Image

Was expecting everything to put up much more of a fight, only issues I ran into were some seized bolts holding the diff in but with enough persuasion and heat was able to pound them out or grind them flush.

Image

Tomorrow I'll work at removing the mustache bar from the diff, fitting the stub axles into the r180, and hitting the crossmember with a wire wheel to clean it up. Hopefully find someone local to enlarge the exhaust hole too.

Do you need to add any adjustablity with the camber and toe? Now is the best time for it.
I don't mean to hit you with a sales kick, but I can help you out there if you were thinking about it. You have it all apart, seems like as good a time as any.
