Well, it's been a long time, a really long time since I touched a Datsun. Yesterday I started taking the coupe back apart to get it ready to head out to the blaster and body shop. I have a cousin that does restoration work so I called him and got the ball rolling. Hopefully it will get all blasted tomorrow and then primered, ready for some body work. Probably going to replace the right rear quarter, I got a futo-fab quarter the other day, that should make it a little easier. Lots of work ahead.

Thanks Michael, it's been a long time coming, but it's still going to be a slow process, just not enough time in the day!

Today I went over to the shop and vacuumed out all the glass media, started chemical stripping the fenders and it was a really sow process.

not too bad, just a few pin holes here and there.....I have a little work to do though. I need to replace the original front seat supports, they were cut out previously and replace the right rear quarter to name a few.

Welcome back! I might have some seat support front cross rails....is that what you need?

I like how your media blaster did NOT blast the flat roof panel & hood surfaces............seen way too many panels warped by bad decisions when media blasting!

Yes, I need one of the seat supports, I'll have to look and see which side I need. I wouldn't let him blast those areas, didn't want to take the chance of warping them.

Monty! Great to see your reply! All is well with me and the family here, just being careful and getting things done around the house. Hope all is well with you and your family too!

There hasn’t been any progress on the coupe but lots of progress on the house and barn. It’s almost done enough to start working on cars again. I need to organize and clean up so I can see what I have to work with.

After the coupe was blasted, it sat at my cousins shop without much progress, so I went and brought it back home, good thing I did because he had a lot of medical issues and I’m not sure if he closed his shop or not but it would have been bad had I not got it when I did. He’s ok now but I’ll keep it here and do it all myself.
