Ok, lets CEMENT this weekend! As long as weather is good, I'm going, even if by myself.

I just put a large note on the fridge so no other plans get "accidentally" made by my wife. I am coming.

I would also mark it on the calendar, send an email, do a facebook post, make a T shirt for the kids......

Matt and I were talking about Whipsaw last weekend...how our Tracker is limited to what it can do. We wish we had a bit of a lift kit on there, 1" or 2" makes a huge difference in those cross ditches some times.

Just a bump up for the drive. Let's hope the smoke clears from the valley, as the U.S. forest fires have just socked the valley in!

Wrap your head around the EARLY leave, as I want to cross the Border at 5:30 SHARP, so we will meet at 5:00 at the Campbell Valley store again. Takes about an hour and 20 minutes to Concrete, Wa.. That should get us ahead of most traffic. It's about 3.5 hours from Blaine to Winthrop, 175 miles, so anyone that needs fuel should likely gas up in Sedro Woolley. We will stop at the Liberty Bell look-out for photo op on way down and at the top of the pass on the way back, for more high mountain photos. again, lets hope the smoke has blown away.

That must be the smoke that blew in while we were at Manning last few days, we hiked the Heather Trail and when we got back to the lookout we couldn't even see Lightng lakes!

IF it is real smokey it will reduce the traffic if nothing else...but I'd rather the views.

My friend Jonathan will be joining us. He has the 260 that won 1st in the classic nissan group at the show this weekend. I don't think he will have a problem keeping up.

After reading Jordan's post on his diff problem, it did remind me of something I had meant to do earlier in the season. On this drive I will bring my infrared thermometer and we can do some temp readings. Our shorter gears definitely bring the temps up for sure.

Andy has Norm and I, plus the race cars, running the MOTUL 75w/140W oil in trans and diffs. My bucket list is still to get one of those larger capacity diff covers, can only be good on our long drives.

For the most accurate reading, if you like, put a BLACK 1/2" -1" circle or square tape, on your diff cover, down low so I can shoot it on our low cars.

Who knows what the weather will be in two weeks, it sure is hot right now. Smoke in the valley right now, it comes and goes from that Diamond Creek fire.
