October 13th, 2014 - Annual Sea to Sky Thanksgiving Run

With winter approaching and a chill in the air, some people take that to mean the days of driving their classic car are numbered. But don’t pull the cover over your baby too soon, because the Annual Thanksgiving Day Sea to Sky Run takes place each year on Canadian Thanksgiving Monday! This is a quick, local, (free) and fun meetup to “give thanks” for another fine season of motoring. We've had a great crew of 510 owners in the past few years, and it would be great to see you guys out again. This year we have a new start and finish locations which are able to handle well over 300 cars!

What: A casual cruise and meetup with fellow classic car owners of all pre-’79 classic cars and trucks, '80s and '90s RetroCars (soon to be classics), and vehicles of distinction.Drive the best part of the Sea-to-Sky Highway on a quiet holiday morning, and enjoy the company of classic car nuts before you have to head off to the in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner! We plan it so that you can be back home by midday. Some of you might have done a Sea to Sky run recently with your various car clubs, but its always fun to mix all the marques together and meet new people. And really, who can say no to the beautiful views and winding turns past ocean and mountains – especially on a holiday!

When: Thanksgiving Monday, October 13th: 8:00-11:30am. We'll begin meeting at 8:00am, and depart at 8:30am.

Where: **New for 2014***
The Thanksgiving run will meet in North Vancouver at Capilano University, parking lot 4. The lot is located at the North end of Campus, and can be found using our Google Maps Link. The Run will then travel North on Hwy 99, to the Sea to Sky Gondola, south of Squamish. Here we have a large parking lot reserved for the group, with a much larger coffee shop ready to handle a mass of hungry classic car owners! The total route is just 8km longer than previous years.

What to Bring: Please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Squamish Food Bank. We'll have our Classic Car Adventures Pickup Truck at the finish, so feel free to load it to capacity!

Additional Information: The Sea to Sky Gondola is offering 10% off for anyone in our group who wishes to travel up the Gondola. Great views, a restaurant, suspension bridge and breath-taking patios await those who head to the top. The lower base, for those wishing to stay with the cars, features a coffee and pastry shop (with Galileo coffee), washrooms and of course our collection of Classic Cars!

Visit www.seatoskygondola.com for more information on our new finish facilities.

This is a great cruise with all sorts of makes and models to check out. Good choice moving the meet-up to a bigger lot. I'll be there again for sure!

I'm in if the weather is nice, how bout some wives come! I am putting my seat in, and invited my wife to come, so we could go to Squamish for brunch/lunch after.

It's turkey day for me, so the drive is out. I might come by the muster spot to say hi though. Always a cool crowd for this event.

My brother and I checked the Classic Cruise this year with the Big Bopper - IN UNIFORM! Light rain and drizzle throughout the day but there was some dry spells. Attendance was down from years previous (and NO Datsuns) but the new venue at the Sea to Sky Gondola was perfect! Lots of parking space and my bro and I took the gondola up to the top. Wow, what a view!

Big thanks to Dave and the gang at Classic Car Adventures!
