WEEKEND SUNDAY DRIVE TO SOMEWHERE

Post by bertvorgon »

The long range looks good, anybody want to drive somewhere. Unfortunately the Stave Falls museum has closed suddenly, so that is out.

Drive to Whistler for lunch? Ideas? Thoughts? Pemberton for lunch.

Don't really want to do anything that involves #1. Soon we will plan for Winthrop and the museum again, then maybe up through the Interior and back.

The 24th Annual Sockeye Run is in Steveston tomorrow. There are very few Japanese cars there as a rule.

I saw that listed, but, I am going to drive the 510 over to Specialty and do some spring service to it,
then I am going for a small drive.

Better I do a test drive BEFORE we head to Winthrop, just to make sure there are no winter bugs left over.

I would love to go... but. I am going to Mexico for a wedding.

when do you think you will be planing for the big Winthrop drive, and if you are staying over night, do you/we need to start looking
at booking a place to stay? also I would just need as much time as possible to make it work.

Thanks for doing all the leg work Keith.... Aron

Re: Winthrop, I need to talk to Matt S. to see what he was throwing out there. Short of that we can just plan heading up to Oliver and finding a cheap Motel, bench race for an evening, then get up early and head back via Hope/Princeton, before the tourists are up.

https://www.google.ca/search?q=winthrop ... 8QfZy4C4Cw

It's only 2 - 3 hours max.

We would have lunch in Winthrop, go through the Museum, top up fuel, then have a leisurely drive to Oliver.

I'm thinking early July again, we went July 6th last year, this year the 5th and 6th are on a weekend.

Thoughts everybody?

That 's on my mind also, just waiting for Matt to have a Sunday off, as Steve at the Bike Shop only gets Sundays off too.

I have not forgotten! We have a metal detector.

Matt mentioned you wandered into MEC..Brent W. showed up also!

So many things to organize....this working 5 days a week sucks...we need to reverse that somehow.

Yes, we will get the mine camp explore done soon I hope.

Was super surprised to see Matt standing there!

Yes looking forward to a few outings this summer, we want to get back up to the forestry lookout on harrison just past Hale Creek, kids almost made it kast year until we hit snow in a clearcut- tough going & dangerous so we called it.

I'd really like to organize a summer BBQ at our place too, the outhouse just needs a coat of paint.
