I'll be at the beach by 8am, to hopefully shoo off any crazy locals from the parking lot, and to form some sort of fortress to fend off all the VW's, fitness nuts, dog walkers, etc. Anyone have any good barricade suggestions - remember, other cars don't seem to work... atleast not Versas and Jettas. Who has the Club banner? I'll be out and about later tonight picking up things and could grab it. unless that person plans on crapping the bed too and showing up early Call all your friends, family and other club members. Get them out, this is gonna be a good show! And the better you all make it, the more money goes to Japan! | | | | |
I have the club banner, and it's just been dug out of the closet and set by the door so that i have to trip over it in the am. No guarantee I'll remember, but it's the best I can come up with at 20 to one in the am! I have both the Bronze and Ole Blue coming - Shawn's won't be debuting his car, but he'll be driving Ole Blue. I have the franks Rich - lunch is on me for organizing the event. See you all there; ETA is 9am for my brother and I Byron

Morning World...I see clear sky out there...
I have some car books that we can give away today also.
I did find the old Nissan Car dealer flag strings, but, they are very dirty from work, so I will not bring them today. I will clean them up for future events though.
Along with the flags...I found something else...missing for 15 years or so..see my "It's a miracle post"

What a gorgeous day, sunny, wind not too bad, chill survivable.
I felt like a new driver this morning...Holy Cow....I realize how close my Toyota and the Datsun were, in terms of clutch feel, shifter position, and gearing. The Infinit is just miles away, and when I tried to let the clutch out in the Datsun, I stalled it. I have it set up for racing, so it is just a quick stab, whereas the Infinti is actually quite long in stroke. At any rate, it took me some time to get back into the flow, then, when I got back into the Infiniti after the car show....Jeez...what a hacker.....
Great turn out to day, 71 registered cars, and I'm sure some drop ins. I met some old race friends from the 70's, who raced with me at the old Boundry Bay airport.
My good friend Steve brought out his wild 81' Suzuki, which he has totally rebuilt and customized, with all the maching done by himself. He got the Best Bike and Best Suzuki awards.
Nice RX2 showed up, plus the usual gaggle of other Toyotas and Hondas, all nicley polished and preserved.
Enjoy the pics.
