Looking for a FS5W71B 5 speed. Preferably in BC where I could pick it up. LMK what you have. Cheers!

I have an L Series 5 speed. How do I tell if it is FS5W71B?

The FS5W71B transmission is the slightly larger case, usually referred to as a Longtail 5spd. Used in z cars and some of the trucks.

FS5W71B in L series trim is 31.5" long and the front case or bell housing has ribs. Used in the ''77-'79 620 truck. '78-'85 810/Maxima and the '77-78 280z and '79-'83 280zx non turbo.

The FS5W63A is 26" long and has a smooth bell housing. Used in the S10 200sx and optionally in the A10 HL510. AKA a dogleg with reverse above first gear.

There are two other L series five speeds but very unlikely you have one of these.

I have a shorty 26" 71B but would have to have an L series bell housing put on it. It's from a 4x4 so has no speedometer drive and it's also a wide ratio. 3.592 first

Have a 31.5" 280zx close ratio that needs (I think) a ball bearing in the adapter plate replaced. Front and rear cases are off but have them. 3.062 first

Have a mid ratio 31.5" 71B probably from an '80 S110 200sx. Cases off. 3.321 first
