Through the good graces of Andy, I was able to strip anything salvageable at Specialty Engineering. It had an 1800 in it which I sold, the roll bar is in my existing car, hardware etc into spare parts. My seat went into my 73'

I then bought the 1973 from a VW dealer in North Van, a lady had just traded it in, so I am the second owner of the car.

I then decided to move up one class and Andy built me my first 2L. That then spurred the development of suspension and all the other sub systems to let the car survive how it has.

It was fun as I liked the building of all that stuff. The 73' went into the tire wall at Westwood, October 1983, survived, which then prompted the flares and the suspension I now have and in 1984, 1985,1986,1987, won back to back B.C. Mod Championships, best competition ever.

By going to Modified I could do whatever I wanted with no points penalty and have more fun building my methanol injection, water spray for Inter-cooler, etc.

After 1987 I focused on Knox Mountain, with the sub 2 minute mark my goal. That I survived 14 tries at Knox was so lucky, seeing all the 510's that crashed there, was a miracle in a lot of ways.

Yenpit - I wish I had an Anglia to put those 1/4 windows into. Always liked those.

Definitely not AMC. Height to length ratio is not correct. Saw a lot of those growing up in SE Wisconsin where AMC factory was. My 7th grade teacher had a Levi's Gremlin no less!

What throws me on the 1972 Cortina is what appears to be a horizontal side marker light at the back..Yes/no?

So did Canada get the later Cortina's? I think the USA only got the Mk 1's, maybe the early Mk II's, didn't sell well, so stopped 8)

You know, I think you are right, we had a lot of Cortina's of the early gens.

I had a friend buy a 1969 Cortina GT in 1972,we had some good dices with my 510.

We had quite a few TVR's too, pic is one of Andy's customers and you can see another long time friends Cortina in the background.

Another pic of Andy's wonderful handi work in the engine bay

Hey Greg, good to hear from you....did you ever finish those stories I sent? I have more about Delta.

I kinda remember...that was along time ago, lots of nicknames...

I had "Mr. Gadget" laid on me, as I started to put all those gauges in, to see what was going on....a few made fun of me...today they call it telemetry....sensors in your ass to see the pucker factor going into Turn Blazzo and the brakes fail....

First two gauges I put in were head temp and exhaust temp.

Ooooooo an early TVR! 8) I had a later 1977 with the TR6 straight 6cyl. Was a beautiful car, but the engine was toast, so my buddy bought it BACK from me! Oddly, I also have some Cortina Mk2 2dr rear 1/4 pop out windows! And yes, I probably have 10++ pairs of 510 2dr 1/4 windows! I might have a problem...........
