68 510 Bench Seat and Dash

Hey Everyone!!!!


I currently own a 1971 510 but I have been in love with the 68 Dash setup and front Bench seating. if anyone on here knows where I can get my hands on either of these I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

There are two types of 68 dashes, with or without the dip in the middle.

I documented this here in this thread when a fella was looking for a glove box door;

As for the bench front seat, it was used in the 68, 3 on the tree manual L-13 510's but you'll never find one, I know of only two cars in all of North America and I own one of them. The bench seats were in many of the model year 68 automatics as well. And this is a hard piece to find for sure

The 521 and 620 pick ups could also be a source for the bench seat as well. The 620's regular cabs had a bit of a relief in the center of the bottom of the seat that would allow for the longer 5 spd if a 620/Z/ZX 5 spd were utilized.

I think the USA spec 1968 had only one dash design........I've had 5 or 6 68's, all had same dash.

68 had a "brake check" button on left side. You CAN buy a moulded plastic dash cap to cover cracks.

Are you aware that the 69 dash is very similar, might be easier to find......?? Top pad is slightly different but you can NOT buy a moulded dash cap, temp & fuel gauges are flipped side to side, heater controls are vertical (68 horizontal)
