1JZ?
S13?
Blogs?
Drifting?
Facebook pages?
Android charging cables?

What does any of this have to do with PL510s?

I'm in agreement that this has become spam and is completely unrelated to our cars and this forum.

I sent an e-mail to Mr. Wiring Specialties (WS) in order to hopefully prompt him to come here to comment about the post.

Just to be clear about a few things from my perspective:
  • The overall goal is to maximize the site's signal to noise ratio (in order to minimize spam directed at our special interest group).
  • I am not opposed to WS making posts that offer relevant products to our site's users; WS does offer certain products and services that are of interest to some Realm-ers.
  • Our site is member-funded; free advertising amounts to for-profit businesses acting like charities (with respect to their advertising budgets); that seems unfair to Realm-ers who make financial contributions to the site
Remember, this site operates as a social democracy that sits beneath the umbrella of a benevolent dictatorship.

Perhaps Wiring Specialties would consider attaining Supporter status, since their sole reason for being @TheRealm is to sell their goods (as opposed to also offering information).

Having seen the advertisement posts by Wiring Specialties in the past I was under the impression that they were "supporters" of the site. I would think that any company coming here to hawk their goods should be doing at least something to help the site.

Hi Everyone

This is Matt from Wiring Specialties. Spamming the forum was not our intention at all. As Yury put it, this was a misplaced thread. We often run contests and promotions on Facebook and follow up with announcements on the forums.

We do have a large Datsun customer base and would most certainly be interested in becoming an official supporter of the forum.

Rob, Yury forwarded CC'd me on your emails and I will be in touch.

Matt
