Maybe you jinxed yourself by putting 666 on rear panel.

I do like your car though. Excellent.

Figured I would bump this to the top in case there is renewed interest in purchasing.

Dang, what a gem!, I read the entire thread and can't wait to read the build thread later, beautiful dime, stand your ground on price, the sweat, love and tears we put into building a nice ride are truly priceless, especially if you're not in hurry/need to sell.

Kudos on the build, GLWS!!

For $25,000 I would pay that if it was completely original.
IMO, a restored one would be worth a bit more than half of what you're asking.

Any local ads are a waste of time IMHO.

Advertise it where the money is. California. LA and Monterrey area are hot spots for restored Datsuns. Sweden and Australia are also super hot spots for collectors with large wallets. Swedish collectors pay huge, HUGE coin for cars that weren't readily available in Europe. A Datsun 510 like this would be extremely rare in Sweden and VERY desirable. It will probably be gone in a month. Beautiful car and worth every single penny.

Give Jay Leno an E-Mail. He likes old Datsuns. Quite sure he would be proud to add this to his collection. Or if he doesn't want another I'm sure he has contacts who would buy this car. I'm serious... this car is that good IMHO. GLWS...don't budge on price!! Image

BTW. If you read any Vintage Car Magazines, restored Datsuns such as Z- cars ( S30 series ) and PL510's are a " buy now " recommendation for the beginning collector, as the prices are rapidly going up.

Remember how long Art tried to sell his all original blue preserved 510 that i have, i watned to buy it but didnt have the cash, but once he made a deal we couldnt refuse, i borrowed the money from my old man. But its appraised as near priceless since impossible to replace since its preserved not restored, and value right now is around 35k if had to restore one into its condition (since insurance needed a price and priceless to them isnt a damn price) but could i find someone to pay 35k? probally not lol. Right buyer has to come along, but just like how i came along for Art to buy her, someone will come to you and be the right buyer to buy this. So dont budge on price, it is very very well done 510.

There's many low mileage preserved bluebirds in Japan as well, but you have to tolerate the RHD factor. :)

When I was looking for a 1992 >1994 RX7, RHD models were a dime a dozen.... well $10,000 a dozen for a clean stock model. However, LHD models in STOCK cherry condition and the right color ( Black or Mica Yellow ) still command $20,000 to $25,000. Mica Yellow cars were were the rarest and commanded the highest prices. Silver models were the cheapest. The best models were in Arizona or California.

If you want good money for a Classic car you have to go to where the money and collectors are. Finding people who have the cash and appreciate fine examples of automobiles is the trick.

I love the Monterrey/Carmel area ( Champagne tastes on a " Root Beer " budget  ). I love it here, but if I was filthy rich that's where I would live. If you've ever taken a drive around 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach, you'll begin to understand. The place just oozes wealth and sophistication. Makes the British Properties in West Van look like a low rent district.

You haven't lived until you've bicycled 17 Mile Drive (don't even have to pay to get in) and stopped at Spanish Bay to use their restroom. Even the MEN'S restroom was nice.

Nothing wrong with a set of aftermarket rims (especially period correct) on an otherwise stock car. Even better if you have the original steelies and caps in the garage. Aftermarket rims do not hurt the value of an 'original' car any more than modern tires on original wheels. It may not be the look everyone wants to see, but it's generally one of the few things allowed in 'stock' classes at car shows.

As to the topic - beautiful car and I'd love to have one like it some day. Stick to your guns on the price - judging by the build, it's worth every penny.

Got a phone call from an interested party and wanted to know how long ago my photos were taken and what condition the car is in since.

The build was completed summer 2006 so the paint is 8 years old and it looks just like it did when it was new. For a matter of information I have not washed the car in 2 years and in the summer of 2013 I put a total of 5 miles on it.

These photos were taken today so this is current condition.
