1970 2dr 510 For Sale $7000 (Not Mine)

Hey posting this up for a 510 buddy named John. First off, the car is located in Langley B.C. and is in John's name. Looks to be a very fresh paint job (by Ross Mullen's shop, Sports Imports) and a good quality one too boot! Real straight all steel body with excellent floors and trunk. Windsheild and back glass were pulled and replaced with new rubbers. New Euro tail light assemblies. Stock 1600cc with 32/36 Weber carb (runs good - no smoke on cold start up), B/W auto and the exhaust is in good condition (recently replaced at some point). Mileage is 25,xxx and would appear to be correct - very little wear and tear on the interior (ie. pedals). Build date is 2/70 but the registration says '71 (white needle speedo & clock!). The rest of the drivetrain is stock so this is a GREAT canvas to start from - stock, mild or wild!

I have been through the wringer lately as my life change turned out to be nothing more than a nightmare. Let's just say things aren't always as they seem. I would love this car and I would love to have old red back too. I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata for my daily drive and really shouldn't be spending any more money on cars.... but holy cow this little 2dr looks enticing.

I have no more vacation time until Christmas. That is probably a good thing. $7K plus shipping and taxes and I am near $9000 so I think I will have to pass for now. Don't you need another sweet 510 to keep the others company?

Ah Chris, I understand, I really do! Tell you what, buy the car and I'll drive her out to you as long as you pay air fare back ! Let's not even go into me buying another car Chris, I'm out of room and I need another 510 project like I need a hole in the head ! I am laying out another car port as I type this and I would still need to add another after I finish this one ...

You must have some free time these days if you are offering to drive it here. Are you still looking at a career change that we spoke of in February? Car ports are good so you can protect the herd. You know, I have a nice bonus coming in the new year but I really don't like spending what isn't there yet and my nest egg is for emergencies, not more Datsun's. Well, not that I haven't done it before but I am trying to learn self control.

Do we know where this car came from originally? Was this one of the 2 pulled from Greg's garage that James took?

No, it is not the other Greg Terry car. That one is still sitting ............ at Jason's! I'll get to it some day - there is one other 510 that needs to be finished off first. Argh.

Way to go James. This one really is a nice clean car and I wish I was still there for the sole purpose of enjoying it and all you guys and the events.

I don't think it will be much of a problem to sell, even at $7K.

Well Chris, with the girls back into school and the new driving arrangements (I've arranged a carpool with another couple of sets of parents), I now am off the hook partially during the week at least! I am still wanting to go back to school so that will be coming sometime, but, we shall see.

John told me where he got it from, but, my memory fails me at this point ... Arghhh, old age!
