510 owners in Southern Ontario

Post by KaipoDa510 »

Hi all,

I am just wondering how many 510 owners there are in the Southern Ontario area.
There must be quite a few. maybe not as active as in BC, but nevertheless still enthusiastic about this awesome and legendary vehicle.

I would love to start a 510 club in Ontario. Even if there were only 5 of us. At least we could do one tour in the summer and drive down the roads in our Dimes feeling proud and admired by many.

Does anyone else share this feeling?

If you do, let's talk!!!

Hey Andrew,
That's great!
That makes two of us.
I know a couple of other guys who are part of the OZC just like me.
This club has been around for many years and it is a great bunch of people.
We can even do some tours with them. I am a current member and plan to be for many years to come.
If we get enough support from 510 owners maybe we can do an unofficial "Meet and Greet" this summer and maybe plan how to get a club started.
Hopefully, we can get more responses.

Hi guys. I am in Erin, ON and a member of OZC as well. I'd be up to host a meet at my place this summer if you would like to do a tour around the Forks of the Credit area or something and end up at my place for a mini-show and BBQ.

Que pasa meng?
Cerveza por favor....

Will you have your 510 on the road by this summer? I hope so.

Sounds like a great plan to me. we have to get the ball rolling for this to happen.

BTW My son has a 510 as well so that’s 2 in Ottawa. We are doing a side by side resto as I type. We "should" have them both on the road this summer ( I am building a back in the Day 1800SSS car and my son is doing a KA transplant you wont tell them apart unless the hood is open). There are a couple more guys in Ottawa with 510's that could be interested.
Not sure how much time I’ll have this summer because I will be quite busy with VARAC . I am a partner in a Triumph GT6 Race Car. We have 4 Races planned maybe we should have a get together at the June 18-20 Mosport Race Festival ?

Hi guys,

I am in Toronto now and I am now without a Datsun. Just sold my 240Z and haven't really found a 510 here that I would pull the trigger on. I love John Dykstra's '69 2 door but he wants too much for it right now.

If I am lucky enough to find another car before summer comes...count me in for sure.

I have a spare 510 Rolling Shell .. has a good 1600 + 4 spd with it . It's a BC car so it't not too rusty ( Actually 95% of the rust has been repaired already ) Might sell it to someone ( JOKER ?? ) that would not butcher it . It's a 2 door .

Wow!
I see e few repplies now.

Maybe this meeting can really happen. We just have to make sure everyone is available for a weekend.
The mosport idea sounds good. I know the OZC is organizing a tour to the Calabogie track this summer.
That could be a possibilty also.
Like I said, even if we have 5 Dimes on the road together at one time, that would be fun.

We'll keep planning as people come out of the woods.

10 years ago when I was living Mississauga I joined OZC. They are/were a great club and while Z-car based, they are very open to all Datsun's. The second year I was with the club I went to a club track day at the Mosport training facility, what a great little track. Lots of experienced racers in the club willing to give pointers as well. I would highly suggest you guys join and use their events as your own.
As a sidenote, when I was there, the guy who managed the parts dept at Brantford Nissan gave 20% off to OZC members and has just about every part number burned into his memory (yes 510 parts too) he will check the US and Japan for availability and he will deliver.

Hey Trevor,
Yes they are. I joined just over a year ago and I am very pleased with everyone there. I try to get involved in as many things as possible. I have gotten some very good advice from some members there. Lots of knowledgeable people, but most of all.... very friendly and like you said. Open to all Datsuns.
Please join us at the OZC and we can start showing off our 510's.

This is the website: http://ontariozcar.com/forum/

Oh and yes, Rick Scott at Brantford Nissan is a great guy. I can say personally that "He knows his stuff"

Spread the word aropund and let's show off our cars in the summer.
